Here are some very interesting facts about the "somewhat celebrated" day:  

• * The fear of Friday the 13th is called paraskevidekatriaphobia, also known as friggatriskaidekaphobia. Those with this phobia often avoid their usual routines and fear anything to do with traveling on this day; some even skip getting out of bed on this day.
• * The exact origins of the phobia are unknown, but some credit Norse mythology for the fear. According to the legend, 12 gods were at a banquet when an uninvited demi god of mischief appeared, bringing the total number of gods to 13. His arrival brought about chaos which led to the death of another god, and the rest of the gods went into mourning.
• * Ancient Egypt considered Friday the 13th lucky, while Greece and Spanish-speaking countries consider Tuesday the 13th as unlucky. Thus, when the horror film “Friday the 13th” was released in these countries, it was renamed “Martes 13” (Tuesday the 13th). Many buildings arou
• * The Bible makes reference to the number 12, such as the 12 Apostles of Jesus and the 12 tribes of Israel. From this reference, many Christians believe that the number 13 represents incompleteness.
• * And the world do not have a 13th floor (alternately given the 14th floor tag) because of the fear of the number 13. Some hospitals, hotel rooms, apartments and condominiums do not have a room number 13 and some airports do not have a Gate 13.
• * The singer Taylor Swift has repeatedly said in interviews that her lucky number is 13. She was born December 13, 1989 (which incidentally did not fall on a Friday but on a Wednesday).
• * 2012 has three Friday the 13ths which fall on January, April and July. on January, April and July.
