Rich Dad, Poor Dad

Our task in Macro Economics: to make a reaction paper about Rich Dad, Poor Dad. Our professor told us not to mind the negative sides of the book and to just focus on the positive ones it has. But if she let me made a real review, this will be very different...

Rich Dad, Poor Dad starts by giving us the perspective about the title of the book itself. It contrasts the two influential male-figures in Robert Kiyosaki’s life, his biological dad, and his Rich Dad which is his best friend’s dad. Evidently, rich dad became more influential to the author’s decisions, values, and life in terms of finances. The book entails how the author was trained and guided by his rich dad at an early age. It focuses on preparing people through various forms of financial education to get out of the rat race. Mr. Robert Kiyosaki emphasized that financial education is very important in order for us to be financially intelligent. In addition to that, the author hands down principles or lessons taught to him by his rich dad that will help individuals wanting to be financially free. The six lessons are: (1) the rich don’t work for money, (2) learning financial literacy, (3) mind your own business, (4) the power of corporations, (5) the rich invent money, and, (6) work to learn vs. don’t work for money. Furthermore, the book gives tips and advices on handling one’s assets and liabilities properly and intelligently. It also presents real life situations wherein the readers can get lessons as well. Rich Dad, Poor Dad also tries to inspire and awaken the minds of its readers to start acting their dreams of becoming free from financial burdens and becoming rich.

The first of the six lessons provided by the book is that the rich do not work for money. Although the first lesson looks a bit absurd, it does not mean that the rich does not work at all.

Hello blogspot. What’s up? I know it’s been months since I last posted in here that’s why forgive me for not being able to check on you lately. I came back for one reason: To express thyself. I just want share the random things that is bugging my mind these past few days...

  • About the #PacBradley fight. I ain't expert but I firmly believe that the judges made a wrong decision. The whole world knows how Manny beat his opponent with his numerous power punches. We clearly saw that Manny Pacquioa is the true winner. However, the turn of events seemed to be so ironic. They didn’t give the audience the true decision but gave the one that is the other way around. Honestly, we did not expect this to happen. Basing it on both of the fighters’ performance, it was not what we’re expecting... You know what I liked regarding this turmoil? It showed us Pacquioa’s true character. I admired how Manny handled the situation and how he was so modest in accepting the judges' decision. Although, Pacman also believed that he won, he still accepted it with humbling grace. Sabe nga ni Aling Dionisia, “Remats!” Ah yes, Manny knocking out Bradley on a rematch is the best way to settle everything.
  • To hell with those people who’ve been hurt when Jessica Sanchez sang the Star Spangled Banner. What do you expect? She may be a part Filipina but she grew up in the US. It’s their national anthem, right? So, there’s no big deal if Jessica sang their anthem instead of our Lupang Hinirang.
  • Miami got into the Finals! Yahooo! (I am not a NBA freak like others but I do watch it, especially when I’m being dominated by my homies.) How about you guys, between OKC and Miami who are you rooting for?
  • The real reason why I want to be so updated about NBA is you, I mean her. There’s this girl that’s so into sports.... (shame on me that I am not.) Para makausap ko lang sya. Tapos!
  • I’m missing a lot of people lately. I miss my high school buddies, my block mates, and my long time crush. Actually, I got to text her this afternoon and luckily she replied. Our convo did not last long for I fell asleep while waiting for her reply. Tanga lang!
  • I’m thinking of more strategies to persuade my mother to get me a plan. Any suggestions?
  • My daily routine for almost a month: gising, eat, sleep for awhile, read, eat, watch some series, lift weights, eat, bathe, troll over the internet, eat, and sleep. Seriously, why am I not gaining any pound?
  • Anything with Peanut butter is heaven!
  • Lastly, our upcoming accounting subjectsssssss. No need to elaborate this baka lalong mstress sa kakaisip.

Any road... I just made a Tumblr account for some purposes, but I’ll still keep my blogspot for some purposes as well. I wanted to keep this because I can express myself here without filtering the things I feel saying, and without worrying how my family will react if by chance they read my posts. I just don’t feel like sharing this to them, though some strangers could see my blog, at least you won’t tease or make fun of anything I say here.

If you want to follow me on Tumblr, here’s my URL. Come on, let’s go Tumblng!

Movie Date With Mi Jeepmates + Annie

After the long wait, The Avengers finally hit the theaters last April 25th. We're able to watch it five days after its release because during that week we're bombarded by a loooooot of exams.  When I say a lot of exams, madami talaga! Anyway, about the movie, I was satisfied. I felt that we didn't not waste any of our time and money because it's all worth it! A real bad ass, indeed. Pero, pero... Something happened to me at the first thirty minutes of the film. I felt so sleepy! And I've fallen asleep for like 4-5 minutes? Loser! hahaha. Not that the first scenes were boring, I was just so tired and felt comfy with the chair and the temp. Of course, I felt that I missed half of the film already. Poor me.

Sabe na eh, Annie also felt it! Look she's half-asleep. :P

19th Birthday

I just thought that it would be great to treat my friends after our Special Qualifying Exam that's why I decided to invite them to eat out immediately after the exam. Here are some of the photos that were taken by Sushmita during that day.

stolen ba to or what? haha

I want to say thank you to everyone who remember and greeted me on fb, twitter, or thru SMS! Your birthday messages are very much appreciated. Thank you, guys! You don't know how you made me so inspired and elated that day. I was overwhelmed, and felt extra-special and loved. Lots of unexpected things happened. A lot of unexpected gifts from unexpected people came. (You know who you are. Kaya SALAMAT!) Sarap sa feeling. Again, THANK YOU!

(Source: Motivational Quotes)

Update: Our Qualifying exam has been moved to the 29th of April. It has already been moved twice and I want it to be moved again. I am losing the focus and motivation needed for me to continue to get going because of some complicated matters. I wanna die now. I hate laziness. I hate myself. Plus pa yung calculus (math is my weakness). Calculus just makes me frustrated all the time. hayy -__-

Breaking News

blimey! hahaha. I was shocked, and so surprised when I saw my grade in accounting this afternoon... At least, I can now breath a little easier.
We've waited for 2 or 3 weeks for our grades in Accounting to come out in our SIS (Student Information System) account, and now our prof. encoded our grades just this afternoon. Those weeks were one of the most nerve-racking and heart-pumping weeks of my life, ever! I was almost hopeless that I wouldn't be able to pass the subject because I felt that I'll fail (you know, I fucked up my quizzes!) but by God's grace, I did pass!

While we were on our way home, I saw a rainbow which we all know happens not everyday. I immediately thought that it was a sign, a good omen. So when I got home, I decided to go to the Church to attend the Mass. I was so into the Mass that I didn't mind the mosquitoes flying all-over me. I prayed and ask for guidance that whatever happens, may He guide me and may He let me accept it easily, if in case, I fail. Why am I so paranoid of failing? It's because our college has a policy that if we failed, dropped, or withdrew any of our subjects, automatically we're out of the game, kicked out of the college. Kaya ang hirap, sabog mga pangarap mo nun. Anyhow, when I got home, I immediately went upstairs to check my grades. Bloody Hell! I passed. I'm surviving, so far!  All the worries banished. All i can feel is extreme happiness that I could turn on a lightbulb... And I'm almost bursting at the seams with happiness! Oh God! Btw, we're still waiting for our grades in Law and P.E., but I trust my professors on those subjects, haha, alam na nila yun. :)

Thank you Lord for giving me this chance to continue my fight for my future.
I know, the battle isn't over yet. We still have a huge struggle to overcome and the judgement day is near approaching--Qualifying Exam. Mag-aral na ulit tayo. Good luck and God bless to all of us!

WTF talaga! hindi ako mkaget-over! hahaha

The animations/gif's were all from google.

My Longtime Struggle

If some people get pumped or become as happy as Larry every time other people say to them that they're getting skinnier, me, I'm noooot! For the past 18 years of my life, gaining weight has been a problem. I think I belong to those group of people whose genetics are that of what they call, ectomorph, which is the skinny body type. Body types that are described as ectomorph has a light built with small joints and lean muscles. Ectomorphs also has a very fast metabolism which makes gaining weight even harder.

I eat a lot at home. I eat like a monster, as in taob yung rice cooker. But when I'm out or at school, I sometimes skip meals because (I know you already know the reason why) I'm studying hard....ahaha! No, seriously, I sometimes skip meals at school because I still have to finish my undone assignments, seatworks, etc. Anyhow, let's not lose hope. Get off of your butts now and start eating a healthy and balance diet. And hey, I  found something from the web that I want to share to you. Talagang nagsearch ako? Hahaha.

   1. Eat more calories
We have different needs in terms of calorie intake since our body types varies. It depends on your body's metabolism. I actually found something on the internet that could estimate the daily calorie maintenance level. It says that my maitenance level is 2163 calories, meaning, I need to exceed this level to gain weight or in other words I need to have a 'calorie surplus' in my body (naks parang economics, may surplus!). To achieve that, I think I'll be needing to eat like every 3-4 hours!

     2. Get the rest of your diet
Yes! Eat and drink more protein, fat, carbs, or if you want to take supplements, go ahead. Just be careful with its side effects, you might get zits that will just make you look worse. But it still depends on your skin type, though.

     3. Use a proper routine workout
I've already tried going to gym before but I stopped because of our busy sched at school. Hopefully, I can get back soon! But for the meantime, I just exercise and lift weights at home. (syempre, only when no one's at home except me.) It's more advisable to go to the gym because there are instructors that will teach you the right and proper way of doing the exercises + there are several machines that can help or make your weight lifting easier + you'll gain more friends.

Rock 'N Roll \m/

This was taken last March, a few hours before Cynosure performed at the PUP Theatre.  (If you wanna know more about Cynosure just check it out here: CYNOSURE) You ought to be thinking why I was not with my friends? I was at the library, nagpapaka-emo, doing our 'thesis-thesisan' in statistics. Forever-loner, lol.

Queeny's 19th Birthday

Happy birthday, 'manager' ! Kahit hindi ako involved sa mga plano nila dyan, masaya naman kahit nakakahiya basta para sa'yo. Always keep your feet on the ground. Watch your words. Wear shorter short-shorts. Aral muna bago pantasya. Good luck! God bless!

Photos were taken from Sushmita Mitre's cam

Again, deep, deep down in my heart, happy birthday, Queeny!

Just Dropping By.

I missed blogspot bigtime! I'm here just to take a peek if my account is still working and to read the blogs of  people I'm following. After reading their posts, I was again inspired by the way they write and how their life have been since I last opened here.. My life? Well, school has always been very tough. Patayan na! Actually, what I'm doing right now is already what they call, 'buwis-buhay' since I still have hundred of pages yet to memorize. I really hate it how my minor subjects eat most of my time. Yung sobrang gusto ko ng mag-aral ng accounting tapos eeksena yun. Damn. Speaking of accounting, I really, really hope and pray that I would be able to pass this semester. I even told my parents the situation and what would be the consequences if I didn't make it. They gave me words of encouragement which I truly need right now. Those words coming from them are enough for me to get going and fight for my future. I know what I want. I just need to FOCUS.

Love month...valentine's day... Oh, nevermind. HAHA. I was so busy during those times with school stuff that I forgot to invite someone, or to go out with someone. As far as I can remember, I dated my thesis groupmates. Yes, we worked on our 'thesis-thesisan' because it wasn't really a thesis for me, I think it's just a mere requirement that we need to pass so that 'she' could have something to record on 'her' grading sheets. (Sana sapian si ma'am ng Holy Spirit while checking it.')

mmm..What else happened to me? Oh, yes. My friends and I grew closer. One thing I learned this past few weeks is that you can't live alone. No man is an island. You need to have a support group or networks of friends to guide you. Thanks to twitter, fb, and to the entire social media, mas madaling makipagcommunicate.

Need to get my eyebrows burnt again. Til next time.

Just saw this at Mr. James Domingo's Profile. Yeah, bitch please... I'm still in love with Accounting, though. I just hope Accounting would love me, too.

Please Define Weirdo

Weirdo
1. A person who is considered strange to other people. This person may do strange things, so this person can be considered a "weirdo".
2. A non-comformist who does not follow trends or a subculture. A true 'weirdo' will juat do what they feel, and can get along with most people. This person does not actually conform to a stereotype and shouldn't be labled.

Am I that weird that my peers always tell me that I'm such kind of person? They've been saying that sometimes my thoughts are kind of out of this world, my actions are quite strange, my tastes are... oh, I don't know. Honestly, I do not know which part of me is weird. And I haven't asked them why on earth are they calling me a weirdo. Actually, I've tried to ask someone in our barkada before, but that person didn't give me an answer at all (maybe, she was just too shy to slap reality onto my face. lol) I know nothing's wrong with me. I look like any ordinary student who is deprived of sleep. I'm a bookish person but I know how to interact with people well(even to strangers). I cram like almost everyday. I'm hating someone in class, and I'm starting to fall for someone in class, also. See, I'm just normal like you.

I'm not offended. I'm just irritated. nakakaurat kaya yung sabihan ka everyday na 'weird,' 'weirdo.' But, at least, mga barkada/friends ko lang ang nagsasabi sa akin nun. They know me. Sila lagi kong kasama. They are the ones who have seen most of my epic failures kaya hndi na nga ako papalag, eh. haha...

But still, I'm curious why they find me weird? compliment ba yun or insult? Damn.

Friday the 13th

Got this from Yahoo!.
Here are some very interesting facts about the "somewhat celebrated" day:

  • * The fear of Friday the 13th is called paraskevidekatriaphobia, also known as friggatriskaidekaphobia. Those with this phobia often avoid their usual routines and fear anything to do with traveling on this day; some even skip getting out of bed on this day.
  • * The exact origins of the phobia are unknown, but some credit Norse mythology for the fear. According to the legend, 12 gods were at a banquet when an uninvited demi god of mischief appeared, bringing the total number of gods to 13. His arrival brought about chaos which led to the death of another god, and the rest of the gods went into mourning.
  • * Ancient Egypt considered Friday the 13th lucky, while Greece and Spanish-speaking countries consider Tuesday the 13th as unlucky. Thus, when the horror film “Friday the 13th” was released in these countries, it was renamed “Martes 13” (Tuesday the 13th). Many buildings arou
  • * The Bible makes reference to the number 12, such as the 12 Apostles of Jesus and the 12 tribes of Israel. From this reference, many Christians believe that the number 13 represents incompleteness.
  • * And the world do not have a 13th floor (alternately given the 14th floor tag) because of the fear of the number 13. Some hospitals, hotel rooms, apartments and condominiums do not have a room number 13 and some airports do not have a Gate 13.
  • * The singer Taylor Swift has repeatedly said in interviews that her lucky number is 13. She was born December 13, 1989 (which incidentally did not fall on a Friday but on a Wednesday).
  • * 2012 has three Friday the 13ths which fall on January, April and July. on January, April and July.
